My dad is of the age and temperament where he says any good day is one where he's awake, above-ground, and breathing. Still, some of the days are tougher than others. He's been having some fibrillations, with his heart doing as much as twice the appropriate number of beats per minute.

They don't think this is a serious problem, and that they should be able to do [ MEDICAL THING ] to get it re-set to normal. Today he went in for that, and according to my mother all went very well. They were able to find the nodes which were misfiring without any trouble, and to zap them all in less time than they expected (although it started three hours behind schedule). So he's expected to recover fully and without any serious issue. So it's nice to have that going right for now.

Now on to simpler merry things things. Here's a little more of the Crossroads Village carousel.

Getting the nervous-dragon chariot in focus while the carousel moves behind it. I love doing this sort of photograph even if I take the same picture every year.

A variation: keeping the stationary stuff still while the carousel blurs past it! Six rotations per minute, like I said.

Another shot of the carousel horses bounding past the camera.

Trivia: It is not known when the first firefighters arrived at the Apollo 1 Command Module, on Level A-8 of the launch tower. Tests indicate that they would have needed seven to eight minutes to get from the fire station to the elevator to the level A-8. PS: From my Second A-to-Z: Z-score, which sounds like when you're having a cartoon French guy talk about the score.
