So, uh, for those who know me only through LiveJournal, I have a Dreamwidth version of this account, at austin-dern.dreamwidth.org. In case that becomes a thing you need to know in the near future.

Also, I've been using LiveJournal's scrapbook to host my pictures, because I bought a permanent account when they went on sale for a weekend back in 2005(Lasnerian), and that seems to give me unlimited photo space. In the event that LiveJournal suffers connectivity or stability issues obviously all my pictures are going to be wrecked and I'll have to arrange alternate hosting. (I have all the pictures I ever posted, of course, but re-uploading all ... uh ... let's call it ten thousand ... is a daunting prospect even before I go fixing all the links.) Dreamwidth offers some space, but much less, since I haven't got any kind of paid account there and probably nobody offers ``unlimited storage'' accounts anymore.

Some shocking news today. HMZ, one of the founding members of the Lansing Pinball League, got married. He announced with a change in his Facebonk status, about the first thing he's let appear on his Facebonk account. Congratulations to him, of course. He's left almost everyone gobsmacked; we had no idea he was even in a relationship. Granted we don't see him so much now that his work left him unable to attend league regularly, and he was extremely quiet about his personal life anyway (how many people do you know have a secret podcast?). Still, heck of a surprise for us to wake to.

I suppose we're probably not going to be able to catch him hanging out the barcade Monday evening, the way we sometimes could, this week.

One last picture from our visit to the State Tree, and then let's get some pictures of our own outdoor decorations in.

A last look at the doors to the state capitol. One of them was plywooded(?) over, for reasons I'm not sure. Also the snow was not cleared at all; [personal profile] bunnyhugger was courageous enough to go up to the top to take a photograph and I am impressed by her resolve.

Back home! Here's a view of one of our front shrubs, decorated with lights and partly covered in snow, looking good.

The other shrub, the taller of the two, and its snow-capped lights.

[personal profile] bunnyhugger set up a mesh of lights in the lower bushes too, and here they've got a neat blanket of snow too.

And this has it all, really, both bushes and the meshed shrub and the icicles hanging over our window box.

Another look at it, from an angle just different enough to make the lighting completely different.
