There's a small stream at the bottom of our hill which may have confused your "cross flowing water" senses :-)

But we are on the same side of the river as Hallowell (the city of Augusta is a "double wide" township that includes both sides of the river, but I don't think we took you guys over onto the east side. Not much there except the place where the mill isn't anymore, and the bowling alley, and our favorite Fried Things In A Basket snack shack.)
