"nearly two inches behind a 'Please Do Not Touch' sign"

This triggered memories from our recent Chicago trip and not mentioned in my post on said trip. Alarm sensors at the Art Institute of Chicago. If you got too close to something not behind glass, you'd set-off an alarm sensor and an alarm would chirp at you. I got startled a couple times 'cause some of the open displays and enclosed ones were bunched a little too close together. I'd try to scoot over to read a description in a case and beep, beep, beep goes the alarm behind me for something in the open 'cause my backside barely touched the plane the sensor was aimed at.
