And if you should catch the ring it's made of mistletoe

In lieu of mathematics blog content here's those pictures I promised yesterday, of our Christmas trees from Twelfth Night, the evening before we planned to take them down. (They stayed up longer than that and we had to bring them to a city tree drop, rather than letting them be picked up with the usual collection, but you'll notice Sunshine not complaining at all because being under the Christmas Tree is somehow even better than being under the coffee table.) Here goes:

Our upstairs tree, self-illuminated. Doing it just in white lights was an unusual choice and we worried it'd make the room too bright to sleep in, but [personal profile] bunnyhugger usually sleeps in a mask and apparently there's nothing I can't sleep through, so the problem didn't really come up. And this did look lovely.

Here it is but you can see the bookshelves and curtains behind it.

The carousel topper actually turned, and even turned better this year than last because I fixed a thing where it was sticking by ... un ... I took some screws out and pulled things apart and then put them back and it was more good-er after that.

And here's a view of downstairs, with the tree in its traditional corner. Also note the sign snagged from the video store when it was going out of business.

Little closer view of the downstairs tree from topper-height.

And here's a look at the tree from the dining room, letting you also see our lovely 1928 curved-arch doorway and how it's illuminated.
