Oof, back in the Before Times I caught something that never got identified but I now wonder if was a not-quite-pandemic capable variety of corona virus and that was not a fun three weeks. Here is hoping that the two of you get over this quicker than I got over whatever the mystery bug was. (And hopefully faster than I'm fighting this ear infection too)
