Rather than keep putting off things, why don't I give a preview of the stuff I mean to write about? This might also help me remember stuff when I get around to filling in the events of the last couple weeks. Stories you should be seeing in this spot soon include:
- We went to Cedar Point on Mother's Day, testing whether the holiday would see crowds lighter (because everyone was with Mom) or heavier (because Dad said ``I'll take the kids and we'll get out of your hair for six hours''). There we rode the new Wild Mouse roller coaster, and
bunnyhugger bought the T-shirt, and somehow lost the T-shirt so badly we still can't find it.
- We went to Seal's world tour, with opening act The Buggles. Well, A Buggles. Particularly, a Buggle and more particularly the Buggle, Trevor Horn. This does mean we've now seen both of the canonical Buggles --- Horn and Geoff Downes --- in concert, although not at the same time,
- We went to Anthrohio! For the first time I took a day off from work and spent it hanging around furries. We had an outstanding time, with a lot of really good experiences even though we're not sure what all was different this time around. Maybe just that everything's been going well lately, touch wood.
- We dropped in on Cedar Point on the way back from Anthrohio (in Columbus), which isn't at all on the way but is less of a diversion than you might think. This we figured was going to be a day where we'd just spend time in the park, rather than try and ride or anything since it would be too crowded, and it really wasn't all that bad.
bunnyhugger got a better Wild Mouse t-shirt (in color, arguably in pattern) that we did not lose.
-
bunnyhugger held her first Women's Launch Party for the new pinball game Foo Fighters and --- despite her doubts that she could overcome people who had superior rules knowledge of the game --- won, bringing home her third launch party plaque (she now outnumbers me three to one) and backglass.
Stay tuned! All this and more (mostly pictures) coming to you this June sweeps season.
Trivia: On 31 May 1973 the Manned Space Flight Management Council decided on an early launch for the second manned Skylab flight, advancing its launch to the 27th of July with a possibility of a crash effort to launch the 22nd of July if the space station's hardware appeared to degrade more quickly.
