( This is another of those silly dialogues which are a lot of fun for me to write, regardless of how much fun they are to read. The inspiration was the sort of news that I think any would-be humorist could not pass up: a proposal to establish new standards for reporting the atomic weight of boron. It would be hard to find a subject easier to write comically about for 700 words. )Trivia: Sir Humphrey Davy named boron by combining the borax the element came from with the carbon it resembled.
