Double dose of pictures of the Jackson County Fair from last year and now let's get on to the carnival rides, so you can see a lot of pictures of things with lights. Starting out:

One of the carousel horses, painted in a 'Oh, that My Little Pony, right?' motif.

Looking past the carousel into the Ferris wheel and the spotless night sky.

A different sort of night sky because I love how the evening glow clings around the attractions.

Movie Magic's a cute variation on the balloon rides. It's a ride open to unaccompanied adults, but we didn't get on, and admired it from afar instead.

Walking around, taking in the games and the distant rides. You can see a Fun Slide in the distant center there.

Movie Magic and the carousel seem to be sharing a dotted line of sight here.

They had a Stinson band organ, a good-sized one too, bigger than the one Calhoun County Fair gets.

Here's a sign where the midway entertainment company uses the band organ as a chance to brag about itself.

Another sign by the Stinson Band Organ, explaining the device and how interesting it is to a cherub on the side there who looks ready to fall asleep at this.

One of the band organ figures, with duties to ring a bell and wave a wand back and forth.

Cherub who's keeping up with the drumming but you can tell has checked out of the job.

And up top are some cherubs assigned to harps and who are totally not hiding a yawn.
Trivia: Fabre d'Eglantine --- who named the months of the French Revolutionary Calendar --- ran afoul of the Terror and was guillotined 5 April 1794. On his way he distributed manuscript copies of his poems to the crowd. Source: Mapping Time: The Calendar and its History, EG Richards.
