This week on my humor blog I own up to not knowing something about a key character in Barney Google and Snuffy Smith (it's neither Barney Google nor Snuffy Smith, but it's still someone in the top tier of characters) and then I do my best to bring attention to a humorist from 1899 who's actually a generally good, pleasant read. You can catch up on all this and maybe answer my implied question about Barney Google here:

Now in pictures, more of the Ghoulish Golf game we played, and particularly the decorations, since those were so fun:

More from the miniature golf. The map of hole seven seems to date to a time before the green was a continuous whole. I love finding evidence like this of how things have changed.

Oh, some more ... robot? Steampunk-y? figures set up at the course. You might remember them from the teaser for Tricks and Treats seen on Labor Day and shared in these pages like a month ago.

So here's a steampunk jack-o-lantern bomb or something.

More haunting set up for the miniature golf.

Spider webs and figures set up to spruce the course up.

bunnyhugger working her way out of the 'sand' trap.

Oh, now, the poor apple statue, why is it looking so drained and undead?

Oh, maybe it's the vampire chili pepper over on the side there?

bunnyhugger hoping to drop the ball into the hole.

Oh hey, more steampunky statues that are looking like fun.

And then just when we thought we'd had enough here come ... fairy tale mice? A witch, a ... strong mouse? ... and Little Red Riding Mouse?

And a mummy and a ghost mouse? What kind of neighborhood have we wandered into on this haunted miniature golf course?
