Trivia: In the early stages of preparing the 1924 Paris games French organizers considered using Pershing Stadium, built by the United States for the 1919 Inter-Allied Games, but concluded the stadium would need major renovations to be useful, and that the stadium was in an undesirable part of town, favoring a site near the Seine.
