Our pet rabbit did not die today. This does not mean that we, or he, are perfectly happy. More underneath the cut, for the sake of people who are not up to hearing about pet health. But it is still in a good spot, right at the moment.
( Read more... )He spent the rest of the day, apart from some interruptions for medical care, off in a particularly difficult-to-access corner, looking away from us.
So that's a much better day than we expected at least. Here's some more pictures of fireworks and City Hall after the state tree was lit, at Silver Bells last November.
More fireworks around the capitol, looking exciting and dynamic in the ways that drone shows look leisurely and sedate.

And now into City Hall for some hot chocolate (they had closed up), a bathroom break (they were still open), to warm up (succeeded), and to look at the Christmas tree, the menorah, and the in-ground plants.
Photo from near the floor because I wanted to show off the planter; that sort of low, in-ground thing is such a mid-century construction you would not see in a building put up today. I'm not saying they're wrong not to do this sort of thing today --- it is a tripping hazard --- but I miss the aesthetic.
Back outside, now. They're cleaning up the reviewing stand and the broadcast booth.
And they've made real progress taking apart the stand where the community sing-along was held.
