I didn't touch the ice block this time, but I assume it was the same as when we saw the exhibit in Chicago. It was explained there that it's meant to give an idea of how cold the below-freezing sea water would have felt.
I thought it was pretty much the same exhibit as in Chicago, but my father insisted that they had more artifacts now than during that tour.
