The fursuit dance! Kigurumi welcome. It's fairly well-attended for a Morphicon dance, sad to say.

Yay, kigu! I'm absolutely fine with kigurumi being part of the fun. (True, personally, I'm much more one for full facial coverage) It's been very welcome to see adult sizes become mainstream - it'd been quite frustrating to see some nifty designs from outfits like the Disney Store appear, but only in miniature human sizes, as if we're meant to lose our sense of wonder past 15 or so. Pah! We showed them. =:D

I've got to yoink that final shot and line for my next entry. BTW, whose work is the costume - hers/yours, or another builder? I really like the way the head's got that authentic leporine shape, tweaked to allow some forward vision. (Ah, binocular vision. Such a rare and precious thing in so many 'suits.. =:)

I commissioned the head from a builder named Mushi Magic. Originally, all the vision was through the eyes (they are painted mesh with round lenses over them), but I found it to be not much better than working blind. The sight through them is very dark and blurry and they are so far to the sides as to be almost useless to me. They also tend to get fogged up. So I asked Mushi to also put in tearduct vision. That made all the difference and I think it actually improved the appearance of the suit by defining the eye area.

The paws (both front and hind) were done prior to the head and I used to wear them separately. They were made by Savage Turtle Studios. I've had a succession of tails made by different people over the years because I'm never quite happy with whatever one I have.

There were also some weird side effects in how the eyes fogged up. At least in the original design wearing eyeglasses made the problem considerably worse, didn't it?

It actually still does. I never intended the suit to be worn with glasses, though... that's just something that happened because of the time I had to stop wearing contacts due to eye injury.

That's it. I couldn't think why you'd been wearing glasses under the hood.

I have given some passing thought to whether the red panda kigurumi I have could be developed into a coati fur suit. The belly color is wrong for coatis, but who's going to know if I don't tell them? This would reduce the problem to making a credible coati head, but that is challenging.

And do please feel free to spread my pictures around as you like. I'm flattered when people like them.
