The woods are just trees, the trees are just wood

It's Thursday, so you know what that means. It means I disappoint bunny_hugger by interrupting the narrative of our lives together to recount the stuff posted to my humor blog the past week. For example there was all this:

• Statistics Saturday: Top Songs For Each Day Of The Week, a music guide.
• What’s Going On In Alley Oop? What’s With The Alternate-Universe Alley Oop? May – August 2019 with special guest star: Plato. Also the Labyrinth and alternate timelines.
• What I Can’t Stop Thinking About Today, with Kennywood content.
• With The Revised Rise Of Digital-Life Persons, put up when I realized what the punch line was for an otherwise cute little bit of microfiction from a couple weeks ago.
• Expanding on Few Words, just some silliness.
• Everything There Is To Say About Procrastination, this week's long-form nonsense.

I did eventually turn around, in the Bosque Tlalpan, and start walking back down the trail. I'm not sure just when in my pictures I did. But the stuff here is from that return leg.

Some building deep in the woods with a purpose I could not discern. It's apparently not being closely watched most of the time.

And a nice spot in the forest. I never would find the extent of the trail up the hill, but now you've got a good idea what it all looked like.

It's possible that one of the Mexican grey squirrels has noticed me. Look at the twist on those feet.

I belive this is a different black squirrel but you can see how popular the area is. I wonder what it is attracting so many to a spot near the food stalls where people converge?

Near the entrance of the park was that museum; it's devoted to local culture. Here's the stage, which I caught in-between shows.

Looking back from the stage --- see the rows of audience seating --- and looking to the paintings and pictures on both floors. I quite like the style of balconies here.

Take a closer look at the rear paws of the black squirrel you labeled with "Strrrrrrretch." The rear paws of a tree squirrel can rotate nearly 180 deg. This is what enables them to dangle from a wall, tree, branch, etc. from just their rear paws. It's also why the one with its feet twisted (2nd squirrel pic) can do that.

Oh, I know this! Coati paws do the same twisting around. I knew one squirrel furry who was very disturbed to see a picture of a coati paw twisted like that, and he was not happy when I told him about his own ankles.

Wait? A furry who didn't research his fursona species?! (chuckle) Why does this not surprise me?

I mean, it happens. Especially for an animal that's so omnipresent everyone figures they know the basics, and about something like ankles that seem too dull to be researchable. Well, I mean, I try to be interested in and learn about animals and I had no idea that raw peanuts were troublesome for squirrels until you let us know.
