What's on my humor blog this week? Comic strip talk, I dislike some salt water taffy that we got for Halloween and didn't use, and I fail to review a Popeye cartoon. Want the details? You could have seen this already on your RSS reader of choice, but if getting your stuff from me directly is more your speed, here's your weekly reminder that my humor blog exists and has on it things such as:
- MiSTed: Altered Destiny, Part 11
- Statistics September: People Have Questions About Judge Parker
- Statistics Saturday: Smurfs I Still Remember By Name, Forty Years Later
- Reviewing _Popeye and Son_: Episode 1
- I Can Hope This Has Got Their Impulse to Experiment With ‘Bad' Out of Their System
- What's Going On In The Phantom (Sundays)? Why is that guy on a typewriter in the strip? August - November 2023
- I Do Not Spend So Much Time Thinking About _Beetle Bailey_ Squirrels to Be Mean
- MiSTed: Altered Destiny, Part 12
And now here's some Gilroy Gardens to enjoy:

Here's the Bonfante Falls, falling. You can walk behind and for some reason I didn't take photos from there. Must not have been an interesting shot, somehow.

And some more of the falls, in-between the falls you just saw and the observation platform, which you can see in the upper right.

And look what's up there, past some of the rock walls: that's got to be decorations for the Christmas season, left out rather than deal with moving them in and out. Or maybe set up for Christmas In July. Didn't notice anything else obviously holiday-related, though.

To the left of that Bonfante Falls picture from earlier is this stairwell of falling water. It's like an unsuccessful Brenke Fish Ladder.

Looking back to the observation platform just so bunnyhugger can get angry my camera lens isn't cleaner.

And, looking down from the walk through the Bonfante Falls is this nice fascinating little pond.

And now looking back to the lake, and the swan boats, and just so much lovely coloring.

Bit of a broader view of the pond, and the swan boats. Note the yellow one on the right there.

Now here's a little rock-lined path that I believe was roped off so we couldn't explore where it went. We can't get enough of parks with disused pieces. It means the place has lore.

Ah! I did get a picture of this. Rocca's Market here is the stage for that Musical Market Show that we never saw. You see the puppet? animatronic? lettuces and tomatoes and the onions left over from the 'We're Not Candy' PSA.

And now ... up to the train! We have just enough time to get a ride around the park on the miniature railroad.

Um ... bye?
Trivia: The glass in Apollo astronaut spacesuits was made in Toledo. Source: The World In A Grain: The Story of Sand and How It Transformed Civilization, Vin Beiser. I assume other astronaut suits of the era too, but I'm just going with the very small bit the book explicitly says.
