I ... finished.

Not that the book is done, mind you. It's not compiled into a PDF, and I'm missing some pictures, including a few I have to re-generate and some my co-writer has to send me, and there's stuff that needs editing and smoothing down including two chapters that need to be merged together, but ... it's a draft. It reads like a more or less coherent book, and I sent it off to my co-writer for his opinions and notes about rewriting, and of course later on we'll have the publisher's reviews. But I don't have to do more writing, just rewriting.

It's so strange; for the first time in a year and a half -- since the days right after finishing my thesis paperwork -- I don't have anything I really have to do, at least not in my role of researcher and author. Wow.

To celebrate I'm going to watch a Mystery Science Theater 3000 I've never seen before (Monster-a-go-go) and then ... I don't know, but we'll see.

I don't have anything I have to get to tomorrow.

Trivia: The lunar module had to be used within 40 days of its first fueling or the hypergolic propellants would dissolve the Teflon seals and other key engine components. Source: Chariots for Apollo, Charles R Pellegrino and Joshua Stoff.
