Let's cut to the chase. You want to know Why is everyone mad at _Funky Winkerbean_ this week? (December 31, 2022) I want to tell you. I hope we're both happy after such knowledge.

Now back to the snow and to the Electric Light Parade back at Silver Bells in the City, now.

The IBEW decided The Nightmare Before Christmas counts as a Christmas-enough film for float-making purposes.

The Old Newsboys float; it only looks like there's a minor Peanuts character in the front there.

And here's a concrete mixer reminding us of the happy time that Santa Claus fell into the hopper? Wait, that's not merry.

Quality Dairy, a local chain of convenience stores, wants you to think of cows with them.

Looking west lets us get a glimpse of floats that are coming in a couple minutes.

Michigan State University's rodeo club has its own float. We've seen this before so please know this is not our first rodeo club float.

Most of the floats are vehicles, or pulled by vehicles. There are a handful of bicycles or bicycle-powered vehicles, though.

At some point the lights just get lost in the snow.

Nearly every parking lot in town, it seems, warns you that unauthorized vehicles will be towed by these guys, Northside Towing. Even parking lots on the south side.

Currently Reading: The Rise And Fall of the DC-10, John Godson. Sorry, wait, around 1970 the FAA recommended that airline pilots warn passengers, when the plane was about to crash or make a hard landing, to assume crash positions, but refused to actually mandate it? Good grief.
