After a comic-strip-recap heavy week last week my humor blog got back to a more normal content distribution this time, with two cartoon reviews, one comic strip recap, and some ominous news about Comics Kingdom. Plus other shenanigans, to wit:

And to photographs from KennyKon! As we finally emerge from Ghostwood Estate, do I do the unthinkable and go right back in for a fresh round of photos? And do you have to sit through all of them all over again? The answer may surprise you!

The exit! Most of the Ghostwood Estate cars were lined up just past the exit door. I'm curious why one of the cars had an out of order sign when that seems like it would interfere with normal operations but I imagine they figured they'd be able to take it off the track when needed.

SAM_9494.jpeg

The Ghostwood Estates entrance, and entire ride, is on the second floor of the building, above park level, so we get nice views down here into the river rapids ride or, over to the right, a bit of the kiddie attractions.

SAM_9495.jpeg

Just one of those rides where cars go in a circle over here, but beyond you can see the Auto Ride where cars go on a much longer non-circle.

SAM_9497.jpeg

Banner hung out on the Ghostwood Estate railing encouraging people to ... well, it's right there, isn't it? I assume the QR code takes you to ACEonline.org.

SAM_9498.jpeg

Enough of that! On to Thunderbolt for an exclusive-ride-time ride, compensation for Steel Curtain not being up.

SAM_9499.jpeg

Yes, I'm going to take this Thunderbolt picture every time I go to the park, it's how I know it's Kennywood and not some other Thunderbolt roller coaster.

Over there's the infield lawn where we saw those two rabbits one time. You'll see it again, though with [personal profile] bunnyhugger.

So we did go back through Ghostwood Estates and take a second tour! And I made a rookie mistake, leaving my camera on outdoor lighting sensitivity so the indoor photos came out very blurry and I didn't realize. Here's what I could salvage, mostly because they're interesting rather than good. Like here, a ride photo(?) put on the shelf.

SAM_9520.jpeg

And here's a picture where you can actually see how the inset 'statue that follows you' trick works. Look from the bottom up and see where your brain flips goes-in and goes-out.

SAM_9521.jpeg

Another framed picture inside the Ghostwood Estates, on a shelf. It looks like a group picnic or potluck or something. Its significance and meaning, totally unknown.

SAM_9533.jpeg

So this time through I paid attention to the wedding cake from that room and wondered what's around back? And as long as nobody was going to yell at me, why not go back and look?

SAM_9534.jpeg

So here's the far side of the cake with the dancer(?) concealed inside, ready to pop up. Definitely going to have to go for this one next time we go on the ride which, as I mentioned at least once before, we never did during this Kennywood trip.

Trivia: By dry weight, tea leaves have about twice the caffeine as coffee beans. However, as less tea is used per cup, and less caffeine is extracted by normal tea-making methods, a cup of tea usually has about half the caffeine a cup of coffee has.
