Not much to share on my humor blog today but --- here's a very special guest we hoped we'd get to meet someday at KennyKon!

SAM_9723.jpeg

We've reached dinnertime, the scheduled gathering of everybody to come and eat and see who won KennyKon Bingo (remember that?) and ooh, macaroni and cheese that's wonderful and other people ate the good ice cream before we could get any.

Got a picture of the Kennywood train going past the far end of the picnic grounds! Also of [personal profile] bunnyhugger taking her picture of this!

SAM_9726.jpeg

Yeah so there was a bit of a line for the macaroni and cheese and all that.

SAM_9727.jpeg

Couple of plush folks come for the dinner too.

SAM_9729.jpeg

And now --- ooh, do you see our very special guest? Do you? Look to the right of the guy with the green shirt. Yes, it's ...

SAM_9731.jpeg

Kenny Kangaroo! I'd never seen him in person before and [personal profile] bunnyhugger hadn't seen him since the last time she attended KennyKon, in 2008, when they were celebrating ... Ghostwood Estate and they got exclusive ride time on Thunderbolt!

This isn't the first Kenny Kangaroo suit, but you can see how it's not influenced by the breakthroughs in furry fandom fursuit technology. Also, in a bold move for an amusement park mascot, he doesn't wear an apron or something easily washed like that so as not to get little kid goo all over the suit. I guess they trust the American Coaster Enthusiasts to be not ridiculously grabby.

Still, you notice he's got a tail that drapes the ground. You get a slight blurry look at his handler on the right, too.

SAM_9734.jpeg

Bye, Kenny! We love your Willy Wonka-ish robe! But see what I mean, that's not a kangaroo tail anyone in the furry fandom would design.

SAM_9735.jpeg

And dinner, which looked all about like this. Someone's making an announcement, you can see in the far corner, possibly announcing the KennyKon Bingo winner or something like that.

SAM_9737.jpeg

Dinner's over, back to having fun. Good look at the square ice cream cone place. Also you see on the left of the picture they were having a food festival you could buy 'Bite Cards' for, which might have been tempting except almost none of the options were vegetarian.

And oh, here's the Kennywood Station, where you get on the railroad that goes past the picnic grounds and all that.

Trivia: Skylab 4/3's reentry was made using only reaction control system 1, because of a suspected propellant leak on reaction control system 2. It landed about 289 km southwest of San Diego after a flight time of 84 days, 1 hour, 15 minutes, 31 seconds, at 11:16:54 am Eastern Daylight Time.
