I forgot, there's something left over from the week with
bunny_hugger amusing and deserving recording for other people to watch.
As we were circling The Daily Show studios for my ultimate conversation with Jon Stewart, we passed a welding supply store on the block east of the show's studios. I started thinking of ways The Daily Show might need rapid access to welding technology but didn't come up with anything funny, but I also noticed that this one closed at some reasonable hour. There must be a 24-hour welding supply store somewhere around, I asserted.
bunny_hugger couldn't think of any reason why there should be. ``Well, it's New York City. There's a 24-hour version of everything around somewhere.''
And it turns out on The Daily Show's block, just past the end of the standby queue, there is another welding supply shop. That one has more evening-ward hours, although it doesn't achieve the 24-hourness I asserted someplace would.
bunny_hugger pointed out that the Empire State Building, grand as it may be, closes at 2:00 each night. ``So where is the 24-hour Empire State Building?'' And if you wonder whether I am likely ever to run out of enchantment with
bunny_hugger, consider the smile which played on my face as I was enchanted by the notion of there being not just the Empire State Building, but also the 24-hour Empire State Building, for those oddball extreme-late-hour Empire State Building needs.
I do so love her.
