While putting the peel-and-stick decals onto my Enterprise model, I managed to put one of them -- the lights for the neck -- on upside-down. That after spending a half-hour searching for a good reference for what direction to put the NCC-1701 on the underside of the saucer. My memory was right, and the kit instructions upside-down, but you'd think the question would be easy to answer. But I could peel the decal off without breaking it and re-set it.

At Funan the IT Mall at least four stores were playing scenes from Monsters, Inc. None of them were the Apple Centre. The Old West-themed McDonald's tripped the circuit breaker at least twice. In another store I tinkered with Zoo Tycoon Dinosaur Island, hatching a baby Apatosaurus I named Gilead, only to discover the game was in a demo mode making it impossible to dig the ponds and wetlands Gilead wanted to be happy. Fortunately a kid asked to play, relieving my moral responsibility for Gilead's happiness.

That's almost exactly what I would have predicted.

Trivia: Lucy got five pieces of candy, a package of gum, and a popcorn ball. Patty (not Peppermint Patty) got a chocolate bar, a candy bar, and a pack of gum. An unidentified kid (I think it was Schroeder) got three cookies and a fudge bar. Another unidentified ghost (possibly Sherman or 5) got a quarter. Pig-Pen never says what he got. Currently Reading: The Most Unsordid Act: Lend-Lease, 1939-1941, Warren F. Kimball. A fascinating note tossed off almost in a footnote: Italy had plans to sink a large luxury liner in the Panama Canal if the Lend-Lease Act passed, apparently from the same desire to be World War II's comic relief that gave us the invasion of Greece. The US Coast Guard seized all Italian ships in the area 30 March 1941, apparently just in time. There's a good what-if timeline to be built around an Italian success, though.

That's fair enough ... I never quite got the gummi worm mystique, although they're fine enough candy as they are. I get gummi bears more, though.
